| Background: ALFA tag is a rationally designed epitope tag whose 15 amino acid sequence is hydrophilic, uncharged at physiological pH, and has no residues targeted by amine-reactive fixatives or cross-linkers. Due to its compact structure, the tag is physically smaller than most linear epitope tags. ALFA tags are compatible with protein function and can be placed at the N-terminus or C-terminus of POI, or even between two separately folded domains, which has a very wide range of applications in life sciences. Anti-ALFA nanobody can specifically recognize and capture target proteins carrying ALFA tags and is widely used to detect, manipulate or purify proteins. |
