Background:    The protein encoded by this gene is an epithelial-derived, integral membrane serine protease. This protease forms a complex with the Kunitz-type serine protease inhibitor, HAI-1, and is found to be activated by sphingosine 1-phosphate. This protease has been shown to cleave and activate hepatocyte growth factor/scattering factor, and urokinase plasminogen activator, which suggest the function of this protease as an epithelial membrane activator for other proteases and latent growth factors.

Immunohistochemistry analysis of paraffin embedded Human gasrtic cancer tissue using 210443(ST14 Antibody) at a dilution of 1/70(Cytoplasm).

In comparision with the IHC on the left, the same paraffin-embedded Human gasrtic cancer tissue is first treated with the fusion protein and then with 210443(Anti-ST14 Antibody) at dilution 1/70.

The image on the left is immunohistochemistry of paraffin-embedded Human thyroid cancer tissue using 210443(Anti-ST14 Antibody) at a dilution of 1/70.

In comparision with the IHC on the left, the same paraffin-embedded Human thyroid cancer tissue is first treated with fusion protein and then with D120957(Anti-ST14 Antibody) at dilution 1/70.
