Background:     This gene encodes a beta subunit of integrin, which can combine with different alpha chains to form a variety of integrin heterodimers. Integrins are integral cell-surface receptors that participate in cell adhesion as well as cell-surface mediated signaling. The alphav beta5 integrin is involved in adhesion to vitronectin. Molecular Weight:    The protein has a predicted molecular mass of 102.7 kDa after removal of the signal peptide. The apparent molecular mass of ITGB5-hFc is approximately 100-250 kDa due to glycosylation.

Purity:    The purity of the protein is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE and Coomassie blue staining.

Storage & Shipping:    Store at -20°C to -80°C for 12 months in lyophilized form. After reconstitution, if not intended for use within a month, aliquot and store at -80°C (Avoid repeated freezing and thawing). Lyophilized proteins are shipped at ambient temperature.
